    Sellers description:
    1975 XJ12C.
The body, is in very good condition.
The interior has been covered for years with a sheepskin seat covers.
It's pretty good original condition, but not mint.
I purchased this car over 14 years ago from a dealer in Santa Barbara California.
He claimed it was originally owned by Tom Jones.
After the engine needed repairs and parts, Tom gave it to the parking attendant for free
as a gift. At the time, Chevy V-8 conversion kits were quite common, so he installed a 1975 Chevy 350 with a 4-barrel out of a Chevelle. It also had the three speed 350 Hydramatic
GM transmission. I purchased it that way and used it as a daily driver for about 11 years.
I lived close to work so the miles that I added were not that high.

Three years ago, the Chevy motor finally gave up the ghost.
So I purchased and installed a 1990 Chevy Vortec 350 out of a 1-ton truck.
It had low miles. I also added a Chevy TBI fuel injection. And then refreshed the TBI with brand new Holley replacement injectors (in Dec. of 2011). I also changed the transmission to a later 4-speed automatic 700R4 with locking torque convertor.

I drove it that way for three years until last month. The motor just recently developed a cracked piston ring.
That being said, the car is being sold as-is. It barely runs, but I recommend either replacing the motor or replacing the rings. The car cannot be driven safely this way. It will need to be towed.
The rest of the motor ran perfect. Gobs of torque and power. Smoothe idle.

The rest of the car ran perfect. I installed new rear shocks recently and it handles great. The 4-spd auto transmission shifted wonderfully and the extra gear dropped the rpm at 65 mph enough to make for a smoothe freeway ride.

As you can see from the pics. The vinyl roof needs replacement. or just removal.

    The power windows work well.
    Everything works except:
1 - worn out steering column. A perfect used one will be supplied to the buyer at no charge.
    2 - clock
    3 - electric door locks.

Only 9,378 of these cars were produced from 1975 - 1978 in 6 and twelve cylinder forms.
There were only 1,873 XJ12C cars made, and only 821 in 1975.

It's been lovingly owned by an adult.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
