This 1975 Jaguar XJ12C coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and it was refinished in green over Moss Green leather upholstery. Equipment includes fuel injection, dual fuel tanks, chrome bumpers and 15″ wheels, dual exhaust outlets, a black vinyl roof, power windows, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller purchased the car out of New York in February 2023, reportedly from the second owner and following 16 years of storage. Recommissioning work is said to have included changing the oil, flushing the fuel, and rebuilding the distributor as well as replacing the fuel pump, battery, spark plugs, and tires. This XJ12C pillarless coupe shows 45k miles and is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service and registration records, and Connecticut registration in the seller’s name.
The car was factory-finished in British Racing Green and is said to have been repainted prior to 2007. Exterior details include a black vinyl roof, quad headlights, fog lights, and chrome bumpers with rubber inserts. The seller states that the chrome windshield trim is loose and that the window seals are dried and cracked.
Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels feature polished Jaguar-emblem hubcaps and wear Doral SDL-Sport tires said to have been mounted under current ownership. The car is equipped with fully independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The front bucket seats as well as the rear bench are trimmed in Moss Green leather and are accompanied by matching door panels and carpeting. Additional appointments include wood veneer dashboard trim, air conditioning, power windows, a heated rear window, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. The seller states that the fuel-tank selector switch and the dashboard turn-signal indicator do not work and that the air-conditioning compressor cycles on but that the system does not blow cold air. Dashboard trim is cracked.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 45k miles, a handful of which were added by the seller.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 244 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque and features electronic fuel injection and dual throttle bodies. Reported work under current ownership included refreshing the fuel, changing the oil, and rebuilding the distributor in addition to replacing the battery, fuel pump, and spark plugs. The car is said to run rough when cold.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists factory colors, identifying numbers, and a dispatch date of June 20, 1975.
