This 1976 Jaguar XJ6L was acquired by the seller from its reported second owner in 2017. The exhaust system was replaced in 2022, and manual-choke Zenith-Stromberg carburetors were adapted in 2024. Powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, the car has been repainted in British Racing Green over beige Connolly leather upholstery. Equipment includes gold pinstriping, 15″ ventilated wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, an independent front and rear suspension, burl walnut trim, automatic climate control, and power windows. This Series II XJ6 is now offered in Canada at no reserve with Ontario registration in the seller’s name.
The car rides on a 112.8″ wheelbase and was repainted in British Racing Green around 2013, according to the seller. Features include gold pinstriping, quad round headlights, twin fuel-filler doors, bright trim, black-accented chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The roof is dented, and paint damage is visible on the trunk lid.
Ventilated 15″ steel wheels wear Jaguar-logo hubcaps and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle GT+4 tires measuring 205/70. The car is equipped with an independent front and rear suspension. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in beige Connolly leather upholstery and are complemented by burl wood accents. Interior equipment includes a British Leyland–branded AM/FM radio, automatic climate control, rear-cabin heating and ventilation controls, power windows, central locking, and bright doorsill plates. The seller notes rust at the driver’s floor pan that has resulted from the nearby door seal leaking.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a 5,500-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six was serviced under current ownership with replacement of the accessory belts, valve-cover gaskets, exhaust-valve tappets, and the exhaust system between 2018 and 2022. The twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors were changed from automatic choke to a Triumph TR6–sourced manual-choke setup in 2024. The seller tells us that the engine does not run well and advises that it should be inspected for oil leaks .
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner Model 65 three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion and oil are visible on underbody components.
The vehicle is being sold on its Ontario registration, which serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada.
