Ebay item 3/10/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XJ6-C-Coupe-Same-Time-Next-Year-/260749958573
Opening bid $5,200 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. Note VIN is not confirmed the J is assumed, seller wrote 7. Corrections solicited. 115k miles.
Sellers description:
This rare Jaguar had a cameo role in the film "Same Time Next Year" (Mendocino, CA) staring Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn during her "deli" owner phase.
The car has been family owned from the outset, originally by my aunt who also owned The Heritage House Inn in Mendocino. My family has owned the Jag for approx. 30 years. The car is original (except for the headliner), including the engine although it had a lower-half rebuild a number of years ago. It is currently driven only about 250 miles per year. Vinyl top is in great condition; headliner is new and a duplicate material to the original. Carburetors rebuilt last year and $7000 of fine-tuning put into the car, including new tires. New radiator. There is some rust appearing in the lower door panels and around the gas caps. The paint is acceptable--no peeling--but new paint would be an obvious improvement. I received a quote from a body shop referred by my Jag shop in Seattle, and they would repair the body and repaint for $6200 (Copy of quote provided upon request) IF there are dents, they are very minor and difficult to detect. The door and window molding is new. Color is SABLE, not "brown" :-). Delivered to my aunt by British Motor Car Dist., LTD in San Fran on 9-17-75. I have all service records from that day forward. Still looking for original Owner's Manual.
Pictures of the gas cap will show the rust spots there; there is also one of the passenger door panel--the driver's is the same except there is a hole of about 1/2" in diameter in addition; the engine photo is self-explanatory.
