Lot #90182
This 1975 Jaguar XJ coupe is powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 and finished in Lapis Blue over black Connolly leather. Equipment includes a four-speed automatic transmission, a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, King springs, a custom exhaust system, dual fuel tanks, a Nardi steering wheel, air conditioning, burl wood trim, and an Alpine stereo. The car was acquired by the current owner on BaT in June 2017. Recent service consisted of replacing the battery and changing the oil. This modified XJ is now offered on behalf of the current owner with a clean California title.
Previously finished in white, the pillarless body was stripped and repainted in Porsche Lapis Blue. Equipment includes a European-style stainless front bumper and lower grille, 7″ Euro outer headlights, Halo HD lights, a Series 3 electric antenna, and dual exhaust outlets.
Chrome 15″ wheels wear Jaguar-branded center caps and are mounted with Michelin HydroEdge tires. The car is equipped with a Series 3 front cross member, Bilstein shocks, King springs, a quick-ratio steering rack, front disc brakes, and outboard rear disc brakes sourced from an XJS.
The cabin has been reupholstered in black Connolly leather with matching Wilton carpets over Dynamat lining. Equipment includes burlwood trim sourced from Madera Concepts, air conditioning, power windows, an Alcantara headliner, Union Jack-branded floor mats, and an aftermarket Alpine head unit.
The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.
The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was sourced from a Pontiac Trans Am and utilizes the General Motors radiator, dual radiator fan, power steering, air conditioning condenser, ECU and fuse box, and LS3 exhaust manifolds. The Jaguar switchable dual fuel tanks have been retained.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a 1995 Jaguar XJS rear end with 3.55 rear gears, a limited-slip differential, and a finned aluminum differential housing.
