Ebay item 12/6/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1975-Jaguar-XJ6/322923231263
Opening bid US $12,750, no reserve, no bids 9 days left in auction, seller knowbel-trading, 57k miles.
Sellers description:
After finding one of my dream cars, I now find myself in a position where I could do with selling it.
I am based in the U.K (so, yes a limey!), however, I bought the car from a seller in the U.S.
As shown in the photos it is a silver Jaguar XJ6C with red leather. It has 57,000 miles on it. The car is currently in Pennsylvania in an indoor garage.
The car belonged to the seller's grandfather and was being sold as part of a dissolved estate. The story seems true with the additional evidence.
As can be seen from the photos it looks beautiful, if not perfect. It looks to be an honest, solid and completely unrestored. One of the positive signs of a solid structure on these cars I was told are the door gaps, which are very tight on this coupe. My plans were to clean up what appears to be minor corrosion to the one area shown in the photo and keep it unrestored like it is.
2 other potential issues the seller mentioned were the car smoking. I was given the advice from a Jaguar forum member that this is more than likely because the car hasn't been driven recently and the carburettors will probably need setting up.
There is also a possible problem with the gearbox. Without seeing the car I cannot say what the fixes are if any, however, both parts are relatively easy to find cheaply. My main motivation for buying the car was a very solid looking body and unmolested condition.
I bought this without seeing it in person, but the photos looked great and the seller genuine. If I am to sell this, then I would also be in the same position and would not be able to provide any more photos. The car would therefore need to be bid on as seen or if someone would like to view it and they could tell me as soon as possible.
