Hello,

my XJC is in Mistletoe Green (Metallic) which I believe was a VdP colour. I do believe that this is the original colour or the car was at some stage stripped down to the metal and repainted very skillfully.

During its early life in California, it was resprayed in black and the again with its "original" Mistletoe Green. It was also fitted with knock on Zenith wire wheels (from Campbell near San José), a Nardi steering wheel (black, not chrome), and a hood leaper.

When in the UK, the interior was completely redone in black leather (as per original). When I acquired it in 2003 it was absolutely rust free. I fitted a EU spec engine, found new in a period box (but kept the original US spec engine for future refitting).

It is possible that I will take this car back to its original place in California in 2010 as I may be moving there.

I would love to know what year the current engine was manufactured in.

This XJC has now been back in California since 2010. It is used regularly.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
