I was high bidder at the last EBay auction. Was the care sold or does Autohaus Los Gatos still have it for sale?

Car returns to ebay 3/23/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-Jaguar-XJ12-Series-1-/281082413247
Opening bid $14,000 reserve not met, no bids 9 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Richmond, Texas.
Sellers description:
Series 1 Jaguar XJ12 that I have owned for just over two years. It was purchased out of California in January 2011 with very low mileage of 17,601. It was sold to me as a one owner car (and was sold from the owner's car collection). Always garage kept, and current mileage is only 18,723 (as of March 2013). Engine is strong and the car drives straight. There is no known accident history (and no signs of any accident repairs). It is in it's original paint (British Racing Green) which is in pretty good shape (as evidenced from the pictures I am supplying). However, upon very close inspection, some very light hairline cracks can be seen in the paint on the roof if the light is just right. The paint also has some pebble related chips behind the rear wheels. In the past two years, all belts and coolant hoses have been replaced, and the carbs have been rebuilt, and the battery was replaced. The A/C compressor has also been replaced, and the A/C system works good except that it is somewhat low on R12. The radiator has also been rebuilt, and the thermostats replaced. Valve cover gaskets have been replaced. The pollution control air rails have been removed. The power steering rack was recently rebuilt due to a leak. I have also replaced one of the two fuel pumps. I've also had the headliner redone. The circuit board in the electronic ignition has been replaced with the REOPUS board (and it works great). Spark plugs have also been replaced. The tachometer sometimes sticks, and a light tapping will free it up. The clock works intermittantly. Tires are in great shape. I believe that this is probably one of the best examples of a Series 1 XJ12 in the country. The car is currently garaged in Richmond, TX.

Hello David,
Beautiful XJ12! I almost bought it. The description and pictures on Ebay by the car dealer Los Gatos were very interesting and well done. When I compare your un-doctored photos to Los Gatos there is a marked difference. He never let any one see the headrests and their state of being and the leather seating was coated with Armor all I guess because they were shiny and new looking contrary to the reality of 40 years worth of existence. Please Google this www.leatheriquecanada.com/ site and get their leather treatment that will help the look of the leather. You've really gone through the car properly and sorted out all the typical issue. The Reopus is a great fix for the out-dated original. I agree that you most probably have one of the best 73 XJ 12 in existence. Best regards, Andre Cassis
