My car was actually originally owned by a Leasing company in Atlanta, GA. The car was leased to a doctor here in Tennnessee. The doctor leased a new Jaguar every two years and sold my Dad this car in 1975, it's been in our family ever since. The leasing company apparently bought the car new from a dealer in Hicksville, New York. I'm guessing that the doctor specified that he wanted a XJ12 and there wasn't one available in Atlanta so the Leasing company found this XJ12 available in New York and purchased the car and had it shipped down South. None of this information shows up on the Heritage Certificate from Jaguar and both my Dad and the doctor have long since passed away but I am very confident that is the history of my XJ12. One note to entering information into this Xj6 Data group, my car is Sable color on the exterior, the only color choice for Sable was Sable Black. I don't know if Sable black is also a Jaguar color but my car is simply Sable in color which is a dark brown color, not black. This may need to be corrected in the color choices.
