Ebay item 6/7/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-jaguar-xj6-Series-1-Black-Black-xk-4-2-engine-/2006 ...
Opening bid $1,973 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. 106k miles.

Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar xj6 sedan. short wheelbase series 1 with original xk 4.2 litre 6 cylinder and auto 3 spd.

This vintage sedan still presents well being an older repaint with sound undercarriage and well cared for interior.

Handles and drives well with good pick up. idles smooth and this one starts easily. manual choke recently rebuilt.

Suspension is very good and recent rear brake overhaul including calipers and hoses. transmission mount and rear end bushings also replaced. tires are period michelin radials 205/75/15s mounted on original jaguar steel rims.

Lights and power options all working properly. rear windows are slower than fronts but fronts are fast at the button,

Seats are original black leather with age appropriate wear but no rips. all door panels and wood trim in very nice condition. dash top is perfect and wood has no splits or decay but could use clear finish. all guages work except the gas gauge.

Horn, directionals, wipers, brake lights, reverse all work well. headliner is good with no sagging. felt door trim and weather stripping all good. This is a garaged car and driven in good weather only. spent many years in Connecticut with same owner. This XJ appears to have been well cared for throughtout the years and kept in good running condition.

Since purchasing the car it has had the brakes, oil and filter change, fuel system and carbs sorted out but needed nothing major to have it continue along in good running order.

This early xj6 has a straight body with good door alignment and hood operation. trunk area solid.bumpers have wear but no peeling rust, overiders are included with front but are not on right now for personal preference.

Paint still has good finish with some minor imperfections but no major flaws. Photos show the deep reflection.

Overall a good Running and presentable early xj. Shows as an original unrestored and honest car.

Purchased recently

Interior was replaced by previous owner to a white non period and doors too were poorly rebuilt. Will fix over time.

Just installing new front rotors and calipers. sway links and Tie Rod also new replacements. Gas gauge not working and other electrical hacks need to be repaired by incompetent mechanic. rides excellent with 6 new shocks.

Both previous owners claimed to have had carbs rebuilt. Yea... right. will do this week.... properly

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
