Ebay item 3/7/14
www.ebay.com/itm/151247103967
Current bid $1,161 reserve not met 8 bids 3 days left in auction. Buy it now price $13,000. Note; VIN is assumed VIN seller provided UDK750248W.

Sellers description:
One of the finest 1973 Jaguars in existance. Same family ownership since new. A show winner for many many years with the Rocky Mountain Jaguar club. Now illness forces sale at a bargain price. If you are looking for an XJ6 that you can enjoy however you like this is the car for you. You will never see another like it in the parking lot at the club or on the show field or for that matter at the grocery store. It always turns heads. The car has a couple of modifications that keep it out of the 100 point class, pin striping, and fender flair chrome covers. The engine is not #correct having been replaced. All records since new.

Opening bid US $9,500, no reserve, no bids 5 days left in auction. Car now said to be in San Antonio, Texas, 69k miles.

Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar XJ6 late Series I Sedan. I believe it is one of the nicest you'll find anywhere. I purchased it from a couple in Colorado who had owned it for many years. They had been given the car by the lady's elderly father would owned the car since nearly new. Both owners took obvious pride in the car; driving and showing it often. It appears that the paint is all or mostly all original and the paint, metal work, chrome and original interior are in remarkable condition. There is NO RUST on the Jaguar visible anywhere. In the tradition of the previous owner I have taken great pride of ownership in this beautiful vehicle and have seen to it that the Jaguar remained a joy to own and drive. The engine runs flawlessly. I was told by the previous owner it was replaced with a then nearly new Series III motor when the original engine developed issues with the valves. It is quiet, never runs hot, is smooth and powerful and uses little to no oil. (It does drip a few drops at rest but nothing out of the ordinary.) The automatic transmission functions beautifully with clean, red fluid. The A/C compressor kicks on but the system does not blow cold. The clock works but is not the original, although the original presumably nonfunctioning clock is included. The original radio is in place but does not function. The oil pressure gauge works sporadically. With the exception of the items noted, all mechanical and electrical systems function absolutely as they should.

Overall this is a beautiful and sorted car. Not restored, but lovingly preserved in remarkable condition. I highly encourage an in-person or third party inspection before the end of the auction. The Jaguar is in regular use and can be driven with complete confidence. In fact, I know of no reason why the car could not be driven anywhere but I advise trailering or transporting beyond a few hundred miles out of respect for the car and conditions that prevail en route.

Car has a buy it now price of $22,000 for 6 days. Car now said to be in Barrington, Illinois. 59k miles. Previous listing received no offers.

Sellers description:
TThis a really pretty XJ6 Jaguar sedan out-fitted in Old English White (Ivory colour) with Russet red Connolly hide interior. The overall combination presents very elegantly indeed.

This particular Jaguar was delivered new in California where it resided for about 25 years. It had a brief stint in Colorado and then the rest of its life in Texas. As a result, she is completely "dry" without even a spec of rust or scale. Her condition is amazing.

The body on this car is very straight and never been in any accident or repair. Looking under the hood and trunk is very evident of its originality. Its hard to tell with the exterior paint but it too appears to be original and, if not, could only have been subject to minor touch-ups. There are some minor little marks/chips here and there from normal use and you can see in certain light evidence of 70s style adhesive side mouldings having been removed on the doors, but this is only under close inspection. Otherwise, the paint is consistent and lustrous. There is no checking, fading or cracking. The underside is clean and dry.

The interior of the car is in great condition with excellent Connolly hide leather upholstery finished in the Russet red which is perhaps better described as a "burnt orange" colour. The leather has a wonderful patina to it giving the car a very nice classic look. The front seats have the burnished appearance of an antique chesterfield leather lounge. I love this look but if you are a perfectionist and like leather to look "new" (like the rear seats), let me know as our company is one of the leaders in leather reconnolising. I can have it redone at no charge.

All the wood on the dash is original and in very good condition. There are a couple of minor hairline cracks but this is not glaringly obvious. The wood and lacquer finish is shiny, without any lifting and the wood presents beautifully. Compared to the average example it way exceeds and I would rate it 9 out of 10. There is no sagging or marks in the headlining. It appears to be relatively new. The carpet is in excellent shape and is the original fitment. With the car comes a set of tailormade overlays which are almost a perfect match. The glossy finish of the rich wood in this example contrasts beautifully with the Russet red hides - making the interior of this car very rich and inviting. All interior chrome finishes are nice. Overall she looks wonderful with a nice classic patina look.

Interior features and functions are operational including electrics - windows, gauges, lights etc. The A/C needs recharging but is fully functioning (guaranteed!) - we will get it right at delivery. Everything is generally clean and crisp.

The chrome, stainless steel and bright work finishes are all good without any pitting and the rubber around the car is fine.

Mechanically, the car is good condition and the spectacularly clean and original presentation under the bonnet clearly shows that. Exhaust is good with the correct looking exhaust tips fitted. The car is fitted with a set of period correct looking Dunlop Elite 225/70-15 whitewall tires (with some 80-90% tread). This is a Jaguar that appears to be free of their usual nuances and typical issues of its age. The 59,500 miles is not verifiable but everything about the car certainly supports it and presents as a low mileage example.

This is a 9 out of 10 driver example that would make for a gorgeous "weekender" - one that you could take to your next Jaguar meet with pride and joy. You would find it hard pressed to find another in equivalent condition.
