Lot #216548

This 1973 Jaguar XJ6 is powered by a replacement 4.2-liter inline-six topped by dual SU carburetors and paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Regency Red over tan leather upholstery, the car is equipped with chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels, power steering, power-assisted disc brakes, walnut interior trim, an AM/FM radio, and power windows. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed in September 2025 and the brake calipers were replaced. This XJ6 is now offered in Canada by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, spare and removed parts, a tool kit, and Ontario registration.

The seller tells us that the car is finished in Regency Red and that portions of the lower body have been repainted. Exterior features include quad round headlights, a driver-side mirror, twin fuel-filler doors, dual exhaust outlets, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Rust is visible on areas including the bottom corners of the rear window and around the exhaust cutouts in the rear valance.

Polished 15″ steel wheels wear Jaguar-logo hubcaps and are wrapped in 205/70 Blockley tires showing manufacturing date codes from 2019. Braking is provided by power-assisted discs at each corner; the seller reports that the brake calipers were replaced in September 2025. The steering also is power assisted.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in tan leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, carpeting, and floor mats. Walnut veneer accents the dashboard and door caps, and additional appointments include a British Leyland–branded AM/FM radio, a power antenna, power windows, front shoulder belts, and a locking glovebox. Air-conditioning components have been removed, and the heater blower motor does not work. Wear on the driver seat is visible.

A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline. Additional instrumentation located centrally on the dashboard is composed of a clock and gauges displaying battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer indicates 80k miles. The seller notes that the gauge for the right-side fuel tank is inaccurate and also that the left-side fuel tank is missing its debris flap.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is said to have been replaced around 2010 and features twin SU carburetors attached to a corresponding replacement intake manifold. The seller states that emissions equipment has been removed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission. The car was undercoated during original ownership, according to the seller. A stainless-steel exhaust system was fitted in September 2025.

Manufacturer’s literature will accompany the vehicle along with spare parts including gauges, ignition components, and a rear seat.

The chassis tag shown above lists the Car No. as UD1L74727BW, whereas the Ontario registration omits the “W” at the end of that sequence.

The vehicle is being sold on its Ontario registration, which carries a “PAS – UNF” notation and serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
