Believed to be the 3rd owner. Car has been significantly upgraded/improved with many XJ Series III components. This includes but is not limited to the engine, ignition system, front & rear suspensions, differential, wind screen wipers, front & rear seats, arm rests, dash roll, front & rear seat belts and more too numerous to list. Original exterior color was Carnival Red but is now Signal Red, unknown original interior color.

Sellers description:
This is Old Red, quite possibly one of the better 1973 Series I XJ6 cars you may run across. Old Red may also be the most different Series I XJ6 saloon you may have seen recently. She is 100% Jaguar, so she is not a one of the many you see these days with an American V8 transplanted into her. The previous owner to me was a Jaguar mechanic so in the 30 years he owned the car he replaced a lot of hard to find Series I XJ components with the more plentiful Series III XJ parts. This includes but is not limited to the front suspension assembly, rear suspension assembly, steering rack, differential, engine, electronic ignition system, windshield wiper motors, dash top roll, door panel arm rests, front & rear seats, front & rear seat belts, sun visors, and trunk liners. On top of that I have installed a modern AM/FM/CD Kenwood stereo with USB and MP3 ports along with 4 new Kenwood 3-way speakers into the car resulting in a very nice sound system far exceeding my hearing capacity. Series I cars did not have a cruise control so I also added an Audiovox CCS-100 universal cruise control with a separate dedicated vacuum reservoir. This was to insure there would be a consistent speed hold regardless of throttle opening on the engine, works perfectly. I also installed Series III electric side view mirrors from a 1987 Vanden Plas.

Finished the last listing on eBay with over 4400 visits, over 210 watchers and one ludicrous $3,000.00 USD offer. Basically, it was a great waste of my time and efforts!!! Apparently eBay is not the place to attempt selling a very nice Series I XJ6, at least not this one. Received an email indicating it was priced too high. First off, I challenge ANYONE to duplicate Old Red for less money. Secondly, that was why I included the "Best Offer" function in the listing. I was and still am open to a "SERIOUS" discussion of price. Obviously, no ludicrous $3,000.00 USD offers!

Old Red was sold to an individual residing in San Francisco, CA on 13 August 2012. Sad to see her go but time changes all things.
