Sellers description:
This car had been owned since new by the couple who purchased and brought it back from the U.K. It was purchased from the original owner with 75,058 miles. It is now being offered with just under 78,000 miles following reconditioning. It has no damage history.

This Series III Jaguar is a rare find for its well-preserved condition and for its "Sovereign" model designation. Sovereigns were made for the European market only. The original buyer purchased this Jaguar while touring England and then shipped it to the U.S. Until 2010 it spent its entire life in Washington State, where the climate is ideal for preservation; no excessive sun, enough humidity to preserve the Walnut dash and trim panels but without salt-coated roads to promote rust.

Engine is a straight six cylinder, DOHC, 4.2 litre (4,235cc) 173 HP, 2271 lb. ft., 120 mph (automatic), three-speed transmission. More power was derived from the venerable XK engine with bigger valves and fuel injection. But of course, the Series III is not about speed. As the only Pininfarina designed Jaguar, its styling is timeless. And the ride is a silky smooth, whisper-quiet high-luxury experience with sport car handling.

It is in excellent mechanical condition with a new bare-metal, three-stage re-spray for an extraordinary exterior finish with no dents, dings, creases, scratches or chips. The interior features perfectly preserved African Burl-Walnut dash (no cracking, pealing or discoloration), perfect original carpeting (extremely rare), new front/back Connelly leather from Aldridge Trim Company (West Midlands, England), and new headliner from Aldridge Trim Company. Virtually all of the factory options and systems are in excellent operating condition; electric doors, trip computer, ice-cold AC (combined with spot-on thermostat and heater), door side panels, dash, steering wheel and new radio (state-of-the-art Pioneer with USB/i pod connection inputs) and more. Drivers-side electrical seat "lift" button does not work. All chrome is in new or near-new condition along with excellent original glass and new or near-new rubber bumpers and seals. Its wheel covers are "Euro" style polished rally rims for a classic and much improved look from wheels that came with U.S. models.

Finally, the Sovereign comes with all of the original maintenance and service books, though service interval records were kept separate from the factory provided record books and were not provided with the purchase from the family who purchase this Jag originally.
