The opportunity to soon own a Jaguar XJ6 4.2 presents itself in the upcoming auction. This vehicle was first registered in 1981 and subsequently imported from Switzerland to Germany. It has had three previous owners and has always been driven without accidents. The current owner confirms that the car has matching numbers, indicating its original condition. Furthermore, the vehicle has a valid German roadworthiness certificate (TÜV) until May 2024 and is in roadworthy condition. However, it is currently not registered. A historic vehicle registration (H-plate) confirms the Jaguar's status as a classic car.
This British car presents itself in an attractive chestnut brown factory color and exudes a certain class. The owner states that the vehicle is in unrestored original condition; however, it cannot be ruled out that repainting has been carried out. Normal, age-related signs of wear may also be present. As can be seen in the pictures, the passenger door has a small dent. Apart from that, the exterior makes a thoroughly positive impression. No major defects are apparent or known, and the chrome elements have retained their shine over the years.
The stylish Jaguar multi-spoke wheels are a perfect complement, giving the car a distinctive look. According to our information, new Dimax Classic tires are fitted. The owner describes the brakes as reliable and in very good condition, estimating their remaining service life at 70 to 90 percent. No modifications or defects to the chassis are known, so the Jaguar XJ6 4.2 appears to be in excellent technical condition.
Stylish silver Jaguar door sill plates mark the entrance to the Jaguar XJ6 4.2. Inside, you'll find an elegant beige leather interior, which, according to the owner, has developed a natural patina. The interior is completed by a dashboard with attractive wood trim, a classic two-spoke steering wheel, and a black and silver gearshift knob. The Jaguar also boasts a comprehensive range of features, including power steering, central locking, electric windows, and cruise control. Please note, however, that the radio is not working. Apart from this defect and the broken rear right window regulator, the interior is in a reasonably good condition for its age, although slight signs of use and minor wear and tear are of course.
The odometer of the Jaguar XJ6 4.2 is framed in black and reads 81,202 km. This reading can be easily verified thanks to the complete service history. As previously mentioned, the radio and the rear left window regulator are defective. According to the owner, all other controls, gauges, and instruments function perfectly.
A powerful 4.2-liter engine producing 205 hp and equipped with Bosch fuel injection gives this British classic its impressive performance. Power is transmitted to the road via an automatic transmission. According to our information, the car was last serviced in April 2023 and is in technically flawless condition. The current owner confirms that there are no irregularities or problems with the car's mechanics or engine.
The underside of the Jaguar is rust-free, as confirmed by the photos. No obvious defects are visible.
The 1981 Jaguar XJ6 offered here is in good overall condition, commensurate with its age. There may be some minor signs of wear here and there, but these only enhance the car's timeless and classic look. As the last masterpiece of Jaguar founder William Lyons, this classic car will surely find its place in the history books. A wonderful vehicle for collectors and enthusiasts.
