This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas has spent much of its time registered in Washington State and was acquired by the seller in 2023. It is finished in red over beige leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, a “leaper” hood ornament, walnut veneer trim, air conditioning, a trip computer, cruise control, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. This XJ6 is offered at no reserve with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in red with gray pinstripes and features quad headlights with chrome bezels as well as a “leaper” hood ornament, a sunroof, a telescopic antenna, dual fuel fillers, and polished dual exhaust outlets.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with 215/70 Starfire SF340 tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in beige leather that extends to the door panels. Walnut trim accents the dashboard and center stack, and amenities include air conditioning, a digital trip computer, cruise control, a rear-window defogger, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. The aftermarket Kenwood stereo does not work.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features Lucas-Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The battery was replaced in 2020 and an oil change was performed in May 2023. A September 2020 invoice shown in the gallery below notes a leak from the rear main seal.

This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas was delivered new to Rowland Motors of Seattle, Washington, and it spent years in that state before being purchased by the selling dealer on BaT in September 2023. The car subsequently was wet-sanded and buffed, the air-conditioning system was overhauled, and the belts, spark plugs, and fuel filter were replaced. Finished in Cranberry over Doeskin leather upholstery, the vehicle is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, walnut interior trim, a trip computer, cruise control, power windows, and a Kenwood stereo. This XJ6 is now offered in Texas at no reserve with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Washington title.

The Pininfarina-styled bodywork is finished in Cranberry (CEE) with gray pinstriping. Features include quad headlights, a “leaper” hood ornament, a power sunroof, power-adjustable side mirrors, bright trim, a power antenna, dual flip-up fuel doors, dual exhaust outlets, and black-accented bumpers. The body was wet-sanded, buffed, and polished in October 2023.

Doeskin leather (AEE) trims the seats and is complemented by walnut accents on the dashboard, center stack, and door-panel inserts. The cabin is outfitted with automatic climate control, a digital trip computer, a tilt-adjustable steering column, and bright doorsill plates as well as power windows, door locks, and mirrors. A Bluetooth-compatible Kenwood stereo has been added.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 205 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. The belts and the heater valve were replaced in February 2024. In September 2024, the following work was performed:

Replace A/C compressor, condenser, and evaporator expansion valve

Charge A/C system with R134a refrigerant

Adjust ignition timing

Replace spark plugs

Replace fuel filter

Replace vacuum lines

Repair exhaust system

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a BorgWarner three-speed automatic transmission.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Rowland Motors as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total amount of $36,131.
