This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 is powered by a 4.2L inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in white over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a sunroof, a “leaper” hood ornament, wood veneer trim, air conditioning, a trip computer, cruise control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. The car was acquired by the seller in 2020, and subsequent work included replacing the carrier bearing and driveshaft universal joints along with repairs to the brakes, suspension, and cooling system. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with partial service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a duplicate Washington title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in white with bright bumper accents and trim. Exterior details include a sunroof, a telescopic antenna, a “leaper” hood ornament, polished dual exhaust outlets, and quad headlights with chrome bezels. Dings are noted on the left-front fender and left-rear door.
Bright 15″ alloy wheels feature black recesses as well as Jaguar center caps and are mounted with Goodyear Integrity tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners. The front and rear brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced in January 2020, and service in November of that year included replacing the front upper and lower ball joints as well as an alignment. The right-front wheel center cap is missing.
The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in beige leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard and center stack, and amenities include air conditioning, a digital trip computer, cruise control, an adjustable steering column, a rear-window defogger, a factory AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows, locks, and mirrors. Wear is visible on the seating surfaces.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 109k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2L inline-six features Lucas-Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection. The cylinder head gasket and exhaust valves were replaced in July 2019 and the valves were adjusted, and additional components that were replaced at that time included the radiator, distributor rotor and cap, ignition wires, and spark plugs. Service in February 2021 included replacing the water pump and the hoses for the radiator and heater core. An oil change was performed in 2022, and replacement fuel injectors are included in the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The driveshaft universal joints and the carrier bearing were replaced in February 2021.
