This 1981 Jaguar XJ6 is finished in white over red leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a chrome grille, cruise control, automatic climate control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and power windows and locks. Work performed by a prior owner included stripping the car to bare metal and repainting it in Glasurite Tudor White as well as replacing the interior upholstery using Jaguar- supplied Russet Red Connolly leather. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2017, and service under current ownership has reportedly included replacement of the alternator, drive belts, spark plugs, rear main seal, front transmission seal, valve adjustment, brake pads, sway bar bushings, and sunroof motor as well as an air conditioning conversion to R134a and the removal of the emissions air pump. This Series III XJ6 shows 97k miles and is offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with manufacturer’s literature, service records and ownership history from new, spare parts, removed emissions equipment, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the owner’s name.

The car was reportedly repainted under previous ownership in epoxy primer and Tudor White Glasurite paint. Features include gold pinstriping, a chrome grille, quad headlights, and dual exhaust outlets. The sunroof motor was replaced under current ownership.

Silver-finished 15″ alloy wheels wear Jaguar-logo center caps and are fitted with 205/70 Travelstar UN106 tires. A full-size spare with Pirelli rubber is stored in the trunk. Service in 2020 included rebuilding the rear brake calipers along with replacement of the front and rear brake pads, rear rotors, and sway bar and shock absorber bushings.

The cabin leather is said to have been replaced with Russet red Jaguar Connolly leather under prior ownership and is joined by matching carpets as well as wood grain accents on the dashboard, center console, and door panels. The headliner has also been replaced. Amenities include an AM/FM cassette stereo, a vanity mirror in the glove box, automatic climate control, cruise control, and power windows and door locks. Cracks are visible in the woodgrain finish on the glove box. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a refrigerant, and the compressor was replaced in October 2021.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 97k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 4.2-liter XK inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Service under current ownership has included removal of the emissions air pump, a valve adjustment, and replacement of the following components:

Cam cover gasket

Rear main engine seal

Front transmission seal and filter

Fuel sending unit

Drive belts

Spark plugs

Alternator
