Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

This 1987 Jaguar XJ6 is a Series III model which was reportedly part of a Jaguar collection until its acquisition by the selling dealer earlier this year. The car is finished in Jet Black over a red leather interior, and power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The air conditioning has been converted to R134a, and recent service is said to have included an A/C recharge, rear brake calipers, a brake fluid flush, and more. Now showing just over 57k miles, this XJ6 is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in New Hampshire with factory literature, an owner’s manual, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Connecticut title.

The exterior is finished in Jet Black (PDH/333), and the factory side markers and bumpers have been retained. Seller states that the hood has been repainted, as indicated by paint meter readings shown below. The included Carfax report shows no history of accidents or other damage.

Factory 15″ Kent wheels are mounted with 215/70 Pirelli P4000 SuperTouring tires with 1999 date codes. A matching spare is mounted in the trunk and can be seen in the gallery below.

The cabin is trimmed in red leather with contrasting burl wood on the console, dash, and door panels. A power sunroof, adjustable steering column, and digital trip computer are equipped. The Jaguar-branded AM/FM/cassette stereo remains mounted in the center stack, though the FM band is reported to be inoperable. Some sag is noted towards the back of the headliner . The door sills are covered in plastic, which per the seller was temporarily removed when the car was participating in judged events.

The six-gauge instrument cluster includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 5,500-rpm tachometer. The six-digit odometer shows just over 57k miles, about 200 of which have been added by the selling dealer. The cruise control is said to be inoperable.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque when new and is paired with a BorgWarner 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports recent maintenance has included a brake fluid flush and replacement of the rear brake pads, calipers, and rotors, as well as a recharge of the R134a air conditioning refrigerant.

The September 2019 Carfax report shows no accident or damage history and lists ownership in Connecticut and New Hampshire.

Ebay item 7/30/20

www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Jaguar-XJ6/274443347980

Current bid: $3,250 reserve not met 10 bids 4 days left in auction seller fentondealerships, same location and photos, 57k miles.

Seller's description:

This beautiful Jaguar was part of an extensive private collection.

It has won numerous awards, most recently Best In Class, Jaguar Clubs of North America Inc. Concours D'Elegance.

The paint is original with the exception of the hood, which was repainted for stone chips and presents beautifully.

The interior is equally beautiful with only some slight drooping of the headliner. There is clear plastic covering the sill plates that was removed only for car shows.

The AC has been converted to R134a and is ice cold.

Recent service included brake fluid flush, new rear brakes, rotors and fuel pump.

Undercarriage is clean and solid.

With only 57,001 miles, this starts quickly, runs and drives nicely and passes NH State Inspection.

The Cruise Control does not work, nor does the FM band of the radio.

Clean CarFax!
