This 1986 Jaguar XJ6 was refurbished under previous ownership with work that consisted of overhauling the 4.2-liter inline-six engine, suspension, and brake system, replacing the three-speed automatic transmission, recoating the underside, and refinishing the exterior in gray. Equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, a sunroof, a Buckskin leather interior, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller acquired the car in December 2022, and the starter and heater valve were replaced in March 2023. This XJ6 is offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Cirrus Gray (ANC) and was refinished in the current shade of gray during the refurbishment. Features include quadruple headlights, a “leaper” hood ornament, a sunroof, power mirrors, a power antenna, and bright trim. The seller notes a chip in the paint on the driver door.

Factory 15″ Kent alloy wheels are wrapped in 215/70 Michelin Defender tires. The four-wheel independent suspension subassemblies were disassembled, media blasted, painted, and reassembled with replacement parts, and the brake system was replaced during the refurbishment.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in Buckskin (AFR) leather upholstery. Wood trim accents the dashboard, door panels, and center console, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, a digital trip computer, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. Cracks are visible in the wood trim.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 80k miles, approximately 140 of which were added during current ownership.

The fuel-injected 4.2L inline-six was factory rated at 176 horsepower and 219 lb-ft of torque. Work during the refurbishment is said to have consisted of replacing the cylinder head, water pump, hoses, and belts, recoring the radiator, and installing a stainless-steel dual exhaust system, while the starter and heater valve were replaced in March 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission that was installed during the refurbishment.

1986 Jaguar XJ6 Luxury Car

It's a special classic, the former baby of a wealthy man with such a passion for Jaguars, he had a small fleet of them, fully restoring each one to the tune of $25k to $50k. (We don't know which amount was spent on this particular dreamboat.) It is freaky perfect, with even the underside getting raves. (It's supposed to have a hairline crack in wood dash, but we didn't see it.) It just passed inspection. Has roughly 80,000 miles with a few more probably added on. Fill the fuel tank from either side, so no memory worries about where to pull in. Cold air, beautiful leather seats, handsome wood dash. It's old school with a design that takes your breath away. Official Jaguar color is Cirrus Grey, but color is very creamy, which we mention again because it looks different in different light in the photos.
