Ebay item 3/26/13

Car has a buy it now price of $4,907 for 6 days. 124k miles.

Sellers description:
1985 Series III Jaguar XJ6

If you are looking at this ad, then I am sure you are quite familiar with this car and know that 1985 was one of the best years for these Series III jag. I took this into consideration when I purchased her a little over 3 yrs ago. She was well maintained by the previous owner and myself. I have service records that will go along with the car as well as all manuals and many extra parts that I have collected over the years. For those of you who do not know, every series III imported for the US market came out of the factory without a "leaper" on the hood. Most american dealerships added the "leaper" to increase sales. Mine remains untouched and original.

This isn't a low mileage example that has been sitting in a garage its whole life, un-used and with alot of expensive maintenance creeping up. My car is a driver, all required maintenance has been done, it is a daily driver that can take long trips, doesn't make funny noises, no leaks and no suprises here, mechanically very sound and strong.

Cosmetically, she is a beauty! I get compliments everywhere I go, you just do not see them as clean as this one, and you just don't see them on the road any more. I love driving her on the weekends and I love the attention I get, so will you!

She has the original paint, I have taken pictures to point out the flays that exist. 2 spots of rust that are starting to bubble, 2 dimples on the driver side fender and a paint chip on the passenger side. None of these take away from her beauty and is by far still one of the best examples (i believe) here in the north east.

As far as the interior goes, everything is there, everything is original. The seats have held up pretty well and are still soft and supple unlike the hard dried up ones that do not get the garage life they deserve. The seats aren't perfect, they have age lines that show, again nothing structural. The wood is very nice, nicest I have seen around these parts, again from being garaged its entire life. This leads me to the reason I am selling. I have lost my garage and instead of having her sit outside, I have decided that it is time to move on and let her go to a good home.

The radio unit went out on me soon after I purchased her, I had it professionally removed and attempted to have it rebuilt by a professional who did not live up to expectation and damaged it. I was a little disappointed, didn't want to put a newer radio in there and damage the console, so I left it alone, the new owner can hunt down a OEM radio online and fit it in, I actually got used to driving it without the radio.

All window motors work, including the roof. However, the contacts on the moon roof switch needs to be cleaned a bit as sometimes you have to play with it a bit (press it more than once, very common). Gas tank switch works as it should, tanks do not leak however sometimes the gauge for the left side tank will read full when it is actually not (not a major prob as it is intermittent). I try to keep both tanks full anyhow. Right side gauge reads correct.

People, this is not a showroom piece, it is a very attractive example and my price reflects that. I am not selling for $10k-$12k like the low mileage mint ones. I am sellling for less than $5k and willing to take offers from serious buyers.
