This 1985 Jaguar XJ6 has registration history in California and is said to have remained with its original owner until it was acquired by the seller in February 2024. Power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in gray over black leather, the car is further equipped with a sunroof, power steering, and 15″ wheels as well as a wood-rimmed Nardi Torino steering wheel, an Alpine head unit, and cruise control. Service performed under current ownership is said to have involved replacing brake and suspension components in addition to an overhaul of the fuel system which included replacing the the injectors, changeover switch, solenoid valve, and sender unit. This XJ6 is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in gray with chrome accents. It was equipped from the factory with a sunroof, a telescopic antenna, a “leaper” hood ornament, dual exhaust outlets, and quad headlights with chrome bezels. There are two areas of rust near the rear window, and the seller notes that the chrome trim above the rear bumper cover does not sit flush.
Black-recessed 15″ alloy wheels have Jaguar center caps and are wrapped in 215/70 General Altimax RT tires. Power steering and power-assisted brake discs at all four corners came standard. Replacement anti-sway bar mounts are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale along with the front brake calipers, rotors, and pads.
Black leather extending from the front bucket seats to the rear bench is complemented by wood trim accents on the dashboard and center stack. The cabin is appointed with cruise control, an Alpine head unit, and a trip computer as well as power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant in 2004 and it does not currently blow cold. The seller recommends that the headliner be replaced.
A wood-trimmed Nardi Torino steering wheel is presented to the driver and the instrumentation panel contains a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added under current ownership. An Odometer Notice sticker affixed on the vehicle indicates that the odometer was “repaired or replaced” at approximately 53k miles in December 1992. A mileage inconsistency is noted in a June 1994 Carfax report entry, and total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features Lucas-Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and was rated at 176 horsepower. The fuel system injectors, changeover switch, solenoid valve, sender unit, and hoses were replaced in 2024. Replacement radiator hoses were also installed, the fuel tank was flushed, and the fluids were changed. The vehicle most recently passed a California emissions inspection in March 2024.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The right-side muffler has been replaced.
