Car was at auction 7/15

Auction description:
Lot number 135
Hammer value N/S (est. £6,000 - £8,000)
Description Jaguar XJ6L S2 4.2 Auto
Registration SHP 838N
Year 1974
Colour Red
Engine size 4,235 cc
Chassis No. 2T6318BW
Engine No. 8L 4150S

This impressive bright red LWB model was originally sold by Parkside Garage in Nuneaton according to the original bill of sale. It retains its original plastic wallet containing the handbook and Passport to Service and comes with a comprehensive file of bills and documentation which includes nine old MOTs, an old style V5 as well as the current V5C.

An album of photographs details a comprehensive body restoration which appears to have taken place during the late '90s. This included new inner and outer sills, a front wing and wheel arch repairs. The engine was also completely rebuilt at this time and many new parts fitted.

The car then ended up in a private collection in Ireland and remained unused for some years, recently returning to the UK as part of a deceased estate sale. A new front brake caliper was all that was required for its MOT which expires in June 2016, the car running nicely and driving well during the short test run we had to take the photographs.

The epitome of Grace, Space and Pace, this handsome early Series 2 XJ6 is ready for its lucky new owner to enjoy right away.
