Auction description:
The Zurich Auction 2025 Saturday, 01 November 2025
1976 Jaguar XJ6C 4.2
Estimate:CHF 25'000 - CHF 35'000
Chassis No. 2J50613DN
Engine No. 8L63740S
Finished in Fern Green over a Moss Green interior Retained by a single long-term owner from 1978 through 2015 and offered with 111,421 kilometers Powered by a 4.2-liter straight-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive Furnished with a copy of its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and decades of documentation A rarely seen XJC in highly sought-after specification
Manufactured on 13 May 1975, this Jaguar was dispatched from Coventry on 23 June to British Leyland of Germany in Düsseldorf. Its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate records that it was finished in Fern Green with a lush Moss Green interior and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a sporting manual transmission with overdrive. The car was then brought to Switzerland by Tobias Baumgartner on 10 October 1978 with just 51,000 kilometers. In addition to regular service work, the engine was replaced at 76,000 kilometers in May 1982, along with the clutch. A service log from Baumgartner's tenure documents the car from when he brought it to Switzerland in 1978 through March 2015 at 110,600 kilometers and is available for review in the accompanying history file. The car then entered the current Swiss owner's collection in 2019, where it continued to enjoy service work provided by the experts at Emil Frey Classics AG, who have worked on the car since 1995.
Rarely seen on the roads today, this compelling example of the XJ6C with 111,421 kilometers recorded at cataloging remains highly sought-after by enthusiasts and collectors for its beautiful style, outstanding driving characteristics, and grand touring capabilities. With the added appeal of a manual transmission featuring overdrive from new and its vibrant green on green livery, this is undoubtedly an opportunity not to be missed.
