Car offered at:
stlouiscarmuseum.com/inventory/listing/1975-jaguar-xj5-3c-v12-coupe/
Seller's description:
We are quite pleased to have this 1975 Jaguar XJ12C Coupe finished in classic English White over soft Black Leather interior. Originally sold new from France, it was later acquired by long time car collector, Claude Imhoof. He would register the car in Switzerland, and later import the car to Florida where he housed numerous, high quality collector cars over the years. By 2018, he decided to liquidate the majority of his collection as he was now in his early 80's.
Powered by a 5.3L V12 with Bosch-Lucas fuel injection, it was now rated at 285 horsepower. This mated to a 3-speed Borg-Warner transmission and 3.31 Power-Lok limited slip rear end. Features include power windows, air conditioning, Panasonic AM/FM/Cassette radio, rear defrost, original textured vinyl roof, fog lamps, electric clock, wood trimmed dash, chrome hubcaps & trim rinds, Dunlop SP Sports Super Radial tires measuring 205/70VR15, and Sicursiv tinted Climaglass with original Triplex front & rear windshields.
Upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum, a comprehensive inspection and service commenced. This began with removing both fuel tanks and having them boiled, cleaned, and sealed. They were reinstalled with new fuel sending units, Bosch fuel pump, all gaskets, fuel filters, and connecting hoses. The front suspension control arms received new upper & lower ball joints. The transmission mount bushings was replaced, as was the rear pinion seal. The radiator was thoroughly flushed, while the rest of the cooling system received a new thermostat & gasket, rebuilt water pump, new clutch fan, electric fan switch, and new radiator cap. The brakes received new front & rear hoses, fluid reservoir, and a new master cylinder. All drive belts were replaced, as well as the spark plugs, air filters, engine oil/filter, coolant, and braking fluid. Lastly, the air conditioning was vacuum tested, retrofitted to R134a coolant, and charged for proper service. Afterward, this remarkable example was thoroughly detailed, polished, and presented as you see it today! It comes with a French owner's manual, wiring diagrams, fuel injection diagram, and 2 sets of keys! All recent service records will be provided to the new owner as well. This presents a very unique chance to own a 12-cylinder, pillar-less XJ coupe, fitted with preferred Euro-spec chrome bumper equipment! Act quickly Jaguar fans!
