1970 Jaguar XJ6 Series 1 Saloon
Registration MTH 524H

£30,000 restoration recently carried out
Superb condition throughout
This superb example was purchased by our vendor in May 2015 and it was supposed to be a restored model but as it turned out, it wasn’t! The vendor proceeded to spend circa £5,000 on mechanical and body repairs but not satisfied, he decided to undergo a full restoration. This task was given to XJ Restorations and their sister company, Painting Classic Cars in early 2020. Works undertaken included a full engine and cylinder head re-build, full body restoration, including panels replaced/repaired where necessary and a bare metal respray. Carbs rebuilt, custom aluminium radiator, electric cooling fan, new wooden dash and door capping, bell stainless steel exhaust system, electronic ignition, new front and rear springs and Monroe dampers, new front and rear brake discs, pads and calipers, high torque starter motor fitted, reconditioned steering rack, five new tyres, poly bush all round, seats, door panels and dash deep cleaned, repaired where necessary and re-coloured. The car has covered a mere 300 miles since its restoration. In excess of £30,000 was spent on its restoration and the Jaguar now looks superb. There are photographs and receipts available to be viewed in the history file. Information found on the internet would suggest that only 11 1970 XJ6 4.2 Jaguars are licenced and three SORN according to ‘How Many Left’. This really is one for the collector but can be used as it was intended. A great tribute to British luxury motoring.
