Ebay item 9/26/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1974-Jaguar-XJ6-tired-but-complete-and-un-rusty-original ...
Opening bid $1,000, no reserve, no bids 4 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1974 Jaguar XJ6. I am selling this car for a friend that doesn't use computers. He has had it for about 15 years. It has been sitting for maybe the last 2-3 years. Selling because he needs the money. He was going to restore it, but just does not have the time or space to do so. The good: It is complete, virtually unmolested right down to the original bumpers and original engine. It has not had the Chevy V8 conversion that is so prevalent in these. It is mostly rust free, the only rust I have seen is in the lower corner of the drivers door and under the muffler guards. Neither of which is really severe. It supposedly has had the right fuel tank removed and cleaned a few years ago (hence the missing muffler and tip which are in the trunk) but when I open the filler door It is not spotless so I am wary of putting fuel in it without removing it again to clean the filler area. With a gas can as a source, it will start, run, and idle. The transmission goes into forward and reverse and the car moves. The brakes seem fine, he spent a lot of money on them since he had the car. The steering seems to work OK, the a/c compressor is not locked up. The dome lights and headlights work. The fluids all look reasonable. Now the bad-only 1 window works (drivers), the blower does not come on so I cannot test the a/c, the wipers do not work and neither do the turn signals, the interior needs complete refurbish (it is all there, but worn out). Now, I would describe this car as an all-there, straight, un-rusty project or parts car. It has a clean Tennessee title. I am starting the bidding where I did because I believe I can easily get that after I remove a few key parts and crush it. Therefore, I will not entertain any lower offers for the whole car. If you want it, buy it. If nobody buys it, I will cut it up. I just want everyone to understand my position.
