Ebay item 8/30/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-1979-jagaur-xj12-with-Built-up-LT1-hughes-4l60e-t ...
Opening bid $2,500 reserve not met, no bids yet 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $5,000.
Sellers description:
This 1979 jaguar has had some upgrading and resotaritong done to it. The car its self has a rebuilt 3.54 posi center section with new coil overs, new calipers, new rotors, new u joints, one, new hub and new bushings.
The front suspension has been rebuilt with new shocks, ball joints, new springs, new bushings, tie rods, new steering rack, rebuilt calipers and new rotors.
The battery was relocated from the front to the back for weight transfer. The radaitor was recored and the trans cooler was removed from the radiator and auxiliary cooler was installed.
The car has some nice parts on it and the crhome is till nice after 30 years which is amazing, the body is the same it has a couple small dings here and there. The body on this car is straight for its age and it looks like it was definitely taken care of. This car is not the usual ebay junk bucket jaguar with a small block, you see so often on Ebay.
The car has been a lot of fun and will provide some sleeper fun for someone else as well.
The average mileage I logged at 75 from the SF bay area to San Diego was 22MPG not bad for a 4000lb car.
I am selling the car to someone who wants to use the drive train in a street rod or finish the rest of the restoration work on the car
This motor trans combo is not just a stock LT1. Its a 1995 355 LT1 with: Ported Lt1 heads, comp springs, comp lifters, comp double roller timing chain, comp custom grind cam(227/233 @.050 with 550 lift on a 113LSA) Ported intake manifold for a Holley twin 58mm throttle body, accel 30lb injectors, MSD pro billet opti spark distributor and JBA headers.
This motor comes with the harness and trans, which brings me too my next point.
The Trans is a Hughes street strip 4l60E trans, that has been even further upgraded with collen steel clutches, 2500 stall converter trans cooler, and a tail shaft for a mechanical speedo.
The kicker is the motor comes with the car it is currently in which is a 79 jaguar xj12L. It has a good 3.54 posi rear end, new coil overs, good hubs, half shafts, and disc brakes. Its a perfect street rod rear end.
