Sellers description:
1979 Jaguar XJ6 L (long wheel base) Sedan. This is a rust free California car and was purchased new at Beverly Hills Jaguar. The car is all original and has had two owners since new. There are several thousands of dollars worth of maintenance history (approx $7k). The car starts, runs and drives very well. The engine feels strong and the acceleration is good. The transmission shifts on time through all the gears. The brakes and steering are good and the car feels solid. The odometer is showing 40,037, however we assume it has turned over once before. The suspension is ok and will defintely need new shocks. The air conditioning works and blows cold air. All mechanical, electrical and climate control systems are in proper working condition. The clock even works! Cosmetically the car looks amazing for it's age and has a nice honest appeal. She still bears all of it's original paint finish. There are imperfections (dings, chips, nicks, fading, etc). There are no major dents. The body, chassis and frame are 100% rust free which is the most important. If you want a show car this would make the perfect candidate. All of the chrome is shiny and straight. The original leather interior is in excellent shape. There are no tears or significant wear. Usually these leather interior are all dried up and look terrible, this one does not. The piping on the drivers side bolster is exposed and can be easily repaired. The dash is solid with no cracking. The headliner, carpeting and door panels are in fine condition. The package tray could use upholstery. This is just a nice original car that runs extremely well (very quiet, great idle). The car does not smoke, leak, overhet or make any strange noises. With some minimal tlc this car would make a great daily driver or weekend cruiser. The new owner will be pleased with it's overall outstanding original condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
