Fine highway performance
Straight, honest and exceptionally
This 1987 XJ12 Vanden Plas is in excellent original condition. Vanden Plas models featured some of the details from the Daimler versions, most notably, more luxurious seats and carpets. While it is not a restored car, it is a straight, honest and exceptionally well-maintained modern classic. Finished in an attractive combination of black over cream/beige hides and carpets, it has been fitted with polished late model Jaguar alloy wheels and larger tires from an XJS, giving an aggressive, but attractive stance. It has been driven quite moderately over its 27 years in service - though it feels and looks much younger than it is. Between the straight body, tidy interior, and well-presented engine bay, it conveys the feeling of a five year old car. All accessories including sunroof and air conditioning work as they should, even down to the original Jaguar stereo. These cars are notable for their phenomenal smoothness and fine highway performance and this is no exception. Road manners are excellent with strong performance from the fully-serviced 5.3-liter V-12. Finding a cherished example such as this one is increasingly difficult. XJ12's are quite rare and many did not survive in such excellent condition. This is a very fine example of a future classic flagship that can be used every day or cherished for weekend touring.

Pedigree Motorcars is proud to offer this beautiful 1987 Jaguar XJ12 Vanden Plas. The series III XJ Series was sold in the US until 1987 and was only offered with a six cylinder engine. They were fabulous cars and the six cylinder was wonderfully smooth. However, nothing compares to a Jaguar V 12, nothing.
We were recently made aware of this beautiful Canadian spec 1987 XJ12 Vanden Plas. Originally sold in Quebec, it was sold in 2011 through a US Dealer to its second owner in Florida. In 2016 it went to his third owner in Indiana.
This XJ12 has been lovingly taken care if throughout its life. It's in amazing condition and is highly original. The interior is magnificent with no cracking in the wood and the leather seats are still soft and show little wear.
The exterior is equally impressive. The Black paint gleams, as does all of the brightwork. As expected, there is no rust to be found. This is one of the most impressive series III XJ's we have ever found. But it's most special because it's a XJ12. These were rare cars in the countries they were sold new in. Very few made it into the US. We were fortunate to have found this exceptionally rare XJ12.
In the past five years only 2000 km have been put on this Jaguar. As with all of our cars at Pedigree, a thorough inspection and service was performed. Our Jaguars are only serviced by the Jaguar Doctor in Boca Raton, Florida. To get this car ready for sale we had performed
Refinish the original wheels – they are perfect!
Install four new Goodyear tires
Replace AC compressor, evacuate and recharge system
Replace throttle bushings
Replace both front shocks
Replace trans spool, spring and seat
Replace radio antenna
Replace extra air valve and gasket
Replace fuel pump
Change oil and filter
Replace wiper blades
Replace AC expansion valve
Replace flasher unit
Everything that was needed to make this Jaguar reliable and safe was performed. This is one of the finest driving series III Jaguars we have ever driven. If you have never experienced a V 12 in one of these iconic sedans, it's something you should sample. This V 12 is the finest driving series III we have ever driven. It is unbelievably smooth, quiet and powerful. The torque from the V 12 is immediate and impressive. This truly is an impressive driving Jaguar.
Since this Jaguar is Canadian spec, it's still retains its speedometer and odometer in kilometers. Please note, this car has 129,000 KM, not miles. It also has windshield wipers on the headlights. It also has an engine block heater, something we have not tried out here in Florida.
